The IRS Payband System (IR) is the pay system for Senior, Department, and Frontline Managers (excluding Executives) within the IRS. It is also referred to as "pay for performance" or "paybanding".

The IR Salary Tables provide current year pay rates for the IR Payband. These tables include base and locality pay, and provide both annual and hourly salaries.

The More You Work, the More You’ll Get

In addition to paying you time-and-a-half for working more than 8 hours in a day, or 40 hours in a week, we’ll also pay you the following premium rates:

  • Night (10% premium)
  • Sunday (25% premium)
  • Holiday (100% premium)

We also offer Law Enforcement Officers Availability pay (25% premium).
