Positions may be filled on a permanent or temporary basis, based on our needs. Work schedules may be Full-Time, Full-Time Seasonal or Intermittent. Temporary appointments will be made not to exceed one year or less. Some temporary appointments may be extended for an additional year. Vacancies for Seasonal and Permanent Contact Representatives in Portland, OR, and Seattle, WA, occur periodically throughout the year.

JOBS AVAILABLE

Applications are generally accepted from September through mid-December each year for the following positions:

Clerk sorts and opens mail, sorts tax returns and organizes files. (Seasonal and Temporary - Fresno Only)

Data Transcriber transcribes and verifies alpha and numeric data from tax returns. (Seasonal - Fresno and Tulare)

Tax Examiner reviews tax returns for accuracy and contacts taxpayers by mail or phone to resolve errors. (Seasonal - Fresno Only)

Contact Representative provides information and taxpayer assistance by telephone or face-to-face contact to resolve their questions and issues. (Seasonal & Permanent – Fresno, Portland and Seattle)

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

For GS-2: 3 months general experience; OR a high school diploma / GED.

For GS-3: 6 months general experience; OR 30 Semester Hours (SH) or 45 Quarter Hours (QH).

For GS-4: 1 year general experience; OR an AS/AA Degree or completion of equivalent hours (SH or QH).

For GS-5: Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent hours (120 SH or 180 QH); OR 1 year of specialized experience in bookkeeping or accounting; OR a combination of education and experience.

Note: A keyboard skills test is required for the Data Transcriber position.

Other Requirements

  • All applicants must show proof of U.S. Citizenship at FP/PIV session (see below). Valid U.S. Passport, Naturalization Documentation, certified copies of Birth Certificate and other government issued documents are acceptable proof.
  • This Employer Participates in E-Verify
  • Background, tax and fingerprint checks are completed on all new employees.
  • We verify the identity of all applicants. You will be required to provide two valid forms of identification (e.g., valid State Driver’s License and Social Security Card).
  • Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/59 is required. To verify Selective Service Registration, go to www.sss.gov.

FINGERPRINT & PERSONAL IDENTITY VERIFICATION (FP/PIV) SESSION

If you have already applied and we have scheduled you for the FP/PIV Session, here’s the information you’ll need to have.

Our Location: Report to 4967 E. Kings Canyon, Fresno, CA 93727 for your Fingerprint and Processing session. Click here for a Map and MapQuest driving directions to our location.

Download and complete all the forms listed below that apply to you and bring them with you to your scheduled appointment. Please bring completed copies of their resume or an SF-612 Application for Federal Employment to the fingerprinting session."

Two forms of current valid identification must be presented at the time of fingerprinting. Names on the ID's must match certified documentation (divorce decree, birth certificate, marriage lic must be available) - no copies will be accepted.
