As an Actuary, you will analyze a full range of complex actuarial tax issues and contribute directly to the processing of cases involving pension plans and other actuarial issues throughout the IRS and decisions made by taxpayers. Actuaries are vital team members with unique and specialized skills in determining resolutions for taxpayers, their representatives, Department of Justice, Chief Counsel, and the Department of Treasury.
We are currently hiring for entry-level administrative support positions in Fresno, CA and Memphis, TN. In this role as a Tax Examiner, you will research and analyze and resolve tax processing problems, adjust taxpayer accounts, and prepare and issue refunds. You’ll respond to taxpayer correspondence and other inquiries regarding a variety of tax returns, related schedules, and other documentation. It is a great way to start an IRS career!
We have Economist positions in our Data and Analytics (Research Applied Analytics Statistics (RAAS)) Division and our Large Business and International (LB&I) Division. Although both are Economists, each has different duties and responsibilities but both will rely on your expertise. In Data and Analytics, you will plan and carry out major projects for collecting detailed economic data from tax and information returns and other primary sources. You'll perform systems acceptability testing on the most complex components of SOI information systems used in the data collection process. In LB&I, you will serve as an authoritative technical advisor within the Treaty and Transfer Pricing Operations. You will be responsible for seeing that policy makers and agents are provided with accurate, meaningful, and properly evaluated and understood economic information.
