The IRS hosts numerous virtual and in-person events each month. These information sessions and job fairs provide you with insights about some of the most interesting positions we offer. In-Person Hiring Events
Contact Representatives & Tax Examiners
The IRS is hiring Contact Representatives and Tax Examining Technicians in numerous locations throughout the country. Contact Representatives provide over-the-phone technical assistance to individuals and businesses, while Tax Examining Technicians typically respond to taxpayer correspondence and other inquiries regarding a variety of tax returns, related schedules, and other documentation. During these in-person hiring events, we'll be reviewing resumes and education transcripts (if applicable) and making job offers to qualified applicants on-the-spot. Appeals Officers
The Independent Office of Appeals is hiring Appeals Officers (AO) nationwide. During this information session, you'll hear from Appeals employees who will be discussing the important role this independent division plays within the IRS, the day-to-day duties of an AO and qualifications needed to be eligible for these positions.
