The IRS hosts numerous virtual and in-person events each month. These information sessions and job fairs provide you with insights about some of the most interesting positions we offer. This page is updated periodically, so if you do not see an event/position that interests you, please check back.         The IRS is once again hiring entry-level Contact Representative and Tax Examining Technician positions for the upcoming filing season. These customer service positions provide technical assistance to taxpayers and businesses to assist with addressing a wide range of issues associated with tax administration.           Senior Revenue Agents

          The IRS is hiring experienced and senior-level accountants for Revenue Agent positions for Chicago, IL and the surrounding areas. This event will focus on mid-career level (GS-13) and senior career level (GS-14) professionals. See event below for entry level positions. These positions are being offered nationwide. During these virtual events, you'll hear from LB&I Hiring Managers and Employees discussing the different practice areas LB&I is responsible for and the specialized experience needed to be eligible for these positions.                     Our Information Technology (IT) Division is hiring senior level Computer Scientists. As a Computer Scientist, you will advise on highly complex issues, studies, research and analysis projects. Your work will pertain to the security research, acquisition, design, development, and maintenance of new or substantially improved information systems. These positions have stringent education and specialized experience requirements.                           Tax Specialist 

                          We’re hosting virtual information sessions about our entry-to-mid level Tax Specialist positions. As a Tax Specialist, you will audit various types of tax returns to determine tax liability of individual taxpayers, business, or corporations. You'll make determinations on liability for Federal taxes and investigate alleged criminal violations of Federal tax statutes. During these information sessions, you'll hear from managers in the Small Business/Self-Employed Division discuss their Tax Specialist's day-to-day duties and the requirements to qualify.
