The IRS hosts numerous virtual and in-person events each month. These information sessions and job fairs provide you with insights about some of the most interesting positions we offer. This page is updated periodically, so if you do not see an event/position that interests you, please check back. In-Person Hiring Events
Clerks and Tax Examiners
Clerks and Tax Examiners perform a variety of administrative tasks and duties associated with tax administration. During these in-person hiring events, we will be reviewing resumes and qualifying applicants on-the-spot. These positions do not require you to have any prior tax experience, as we provide comprehensive training to new hires. These positions are not telework-eligible and would require you to work at the service center. Virtual Information Sessions - General
Veterans and Military Spouses
As part of the IRS workforce, your efforts will help make America stronger as we continue to support the nation’s most vital programs. During this information session, we will provide an overview of IRS benefits, Veteran preferences, direct hire authority for Veterans and Military Spouses, documentation requirements, how to apply for positions with the IRS, and provide tips for creating an effective resume. The IRS is committed to cultivating a diverse workforce by strengthening its ability to recruit, hire, develop, promote, and retain our Nation’s talent and remove barriers to equal opportunity. Job Fair Featuring a Variety of Business Divisions
Join us during this virtual job fair/information session where we will be featuring a variety of open or soon-to-be open entry and mid-career level positions from various business divisions. During the event, we will discuss the duties of the positions, the qualifications needed to be eligible, and we will be available for an open Q&A session. Virtual Information Sessions - Position Specific
Actuary
The Large Business & International (LB&I) division is hiring Actuaries in locations nationwide. During this information session, you’ll hear from LB&I Actuaries working in the field and gain a better understanding of the work they do day-to-day. We’ll also have HR representatives attending the session to discuss the application process and the requirements for these positions. Field Assistance - Clerks and Customer Service
The IRS is committed to serving the needs of taxpayers. We are currently hiring entry-level customer service and clerical support positions to work at our Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TAC) offices nationwide. During these virtual information sessions, we will provide an overview of IRS pay and benefits, explain the required qualifications and job duties for the Initial Assistance Representative and Individual Taxpayer Advisory Specialist positions, and we will provide tips for navigating the application process. The Small Business/Self Employed (SB/SE) division is hiring Revenue Officers. During these information sessions, you will hear from managers in the Field Collection Division about these positions.
