IRS Events

The IRS hosts numerous virtual and in-person events each month. These information sessions and job fairs provide you with insights about some of the most interesting positions we offer. This page is updated periodically, so if you do not see an event/position that interests you, please check back. In-Person Hiring Events

     

    Revenue Agents & Revenue Officers - Select cities below

    We are hiring entry-level Revenue Agents and Revenue Officers nationwide. In several cities we are hosting in-person hiring events. The Revenue Agent position has an education and specialized experience requirement, and the Revenue Officer position has a specialized experience requirement (education may be substituted under special circumstances). During these events, we will be reviewing resumes and conducting interviews. At some of the events, qualified applicants will be offered a tentative job offer on-the-spot.     Tax Examiners and Clerks - Select cities below

    The IRS is hiring entry-level Tax Examiners and Clerks at our main service centers in Austin, TX, Kansas City, MO, and Ogden, UT, for the upcoming filing season. These positions perform a variety of administrative tasks and duties associated with tax administration. The duties will vary based on the position and may include identifying and reviewing forms, preparing inventory reports, reviewing filed material, transcribing taxpayer documents, responding to taxpayer correspondence, resolving account issues, and reviewing tax returns for errors and missing information. During these events, we will be reviewing resumes and qualifying applicants for positions on-the-spot. Click below to register to attend:

      HBCU Career Week and Recruitment Fair - Arlington, VA

      We will be hiring Computer Scientists, Revenue Agents and Revenue Officers on career day at the 5th Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Career Week and Recruitment Fair in Arlington, VA by invitation only. We will be reviewing resumes and transcripts prior to the event and if you are deemed eligible and qualified, we will invite you to schedule an interview on September 28, 2023.       Veteran Hiring Event - Puerto Rico 

      We are hosting a veterans-only hiring event in Puerto Rico for the following positions: Digital Business Analysts, Digital User Experience Analysts/Designers/Researchers, HR Specialists, IT Specialists, Management & Program Analysts, Supervisory Project Managers, and Supervisory Web Specialists. During this event, HR Specialists and Hiring Managers will be on-site to answer questions, conduct interviews and review and accept resumes for these positions. If you are found to be qualified, you will receive a tentative job offer and may be able to complete several pre-employment steps such as fingerprinting during the event. Click below to register:

      Virtual Hiring Events

      LB&I Virtual Open House - West Coast Edition

      The Large Business and International (LB&I) division is hosting a virtual open house to feature a variety of positions they are hiring for nationwide.           Disability Employment Awareness Month/Individuals with Disabilities (Schedule A)

          At the IRS, we believe in the abilities of all our employees, and we’re committed to hiring qualified individuals at all levels of our organization. Our goal, as an employer of individuals with disabilities, is to be a model within the federal government and for companies in the private sector. During this information session, we will provide an overview of IRS benefits, the Schedule A hiring path and documentation requirements, how to apply for positions with the IRS, and provide tips for creating an effective resume.           Virtual Information Session Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
